A smarter approach to

Web development

1. Initial meeting

First, we’ll get clear on your website objectives. Our discovery meeting will uncover the results you’re after and the functionality you require. After sign off, we’ll start planning your sitemap, SEO migration plan, content and integration.

2. Web design meeting

We’ll discuss specific design requirements and nail down the look and feel of your new website. This meeting is an opportunity for us to get creative and really map out what content is needed for the new site.

3. Design screen

If you’ve opted for a custom-designed website, we’ll provide a number of interactive design prototypes (check out some examples here). You’ll get to review the designs across multiple devices and we won’t progress to the coding stage until you’ve fallen in love with the look.

4. Staging site

This is where the development team gets coding. We’ll integrate your newly designed website into WordPress, OnCourse or your chosen CMS/LMS and provide you with a living breathing prototype where we can start uploading content, data and other bits and pieces.

5. Final tweaks & approval

There’s always a few final tweaks and changes to make to the staging site. Once all the content and data is uploaded, we’ll send it to you for final review and approval. We’ll also implement any necessary URL redirects and tracking codes.

6. Go live & learn

Our favourite part! We launch your new website live, submit it to Google and run a few tests. These first few weeks of data are critical, so we’ll provide a post go-live report with insights into site performance.

FAQs

Responsive Web Design (RWD) is an approach of laying-out and coding a website such that the website provides an optimal viewing experience — ease of reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling — across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones).

Recent changes to Google’s search index now mean that if your website is not mobile friendly you will not rate well in mobile search results.

Custom web designs give you freedom and flexibility to craft your website to your business’s unique brand identity, products and services. We can design and build your website from scratch. Of course, this will take longer than a theme-build website, but we believe it’s worth the wait 😉

Themes are a great option for businesses looking for a cheap-ish (without lacking in quality) website that’s up and running quickly and easy to upload/update content down the track. We can still customise themes to suit your business’s brand, but if you’re looking for something really unique, we suggest custom designs. If you’re not sure what option is best for you, we’re happy to talk through these and come up with a cost-effective, creative solution.

Website builds tend to take between 6-8 weeks from the date we receive all content.

In general, website builds tend to take between 4-5 weeks (and that’s once we’ve got all content ready to go!). Once built, we will need 1-2 weeks for content entry, reviews and approvals, followed by approximately 1 week to finalise the set up and get everything ready for launch.

Of course, the exact time frame will depend on the various aspects of your unique project. We’ll be able to confirm this duration once we’ve sat down and worked out the specifics with you.

In short, we conduct SEO to help your site rank on Google. Our job is to help you identify whatever opportunity is available and how you can maximise your returns from search engines.

Activity such as blogging, developing high-quality backlinks and ensuring all of your metadata is up to date will help to drive your organic traffic. With over 50% of internet usage now occurring on the run, a mobile responsive website is also a must! Also, never forget to engage on social media. Simple things like word-of-mouth can travel a long way!

Great question! Marketing lingo can often become a little confusing.

A website conversion is when a visitor to your website takes an action you desire. This can include clicking the call button, signing up for a newsletter or purchasing a product. Conversions are unique to every client and website, and there can definitely be more than one!

A conversion, however, is different to your website conversion rate. This is the number of desired actions taken (conversions), divided by the number of visitors to your site. This number can change frequently, especially if you provide a product or service that is seasonal in nature.

So you desperately want to improve your website conversions?

A lot of the time, it comes down to the user experience (UX). If the user of your website gets frustrated, it’s likely that they won’t convert. Make sure your website is easy to navigate, loads fast, has relevant and useful content (including text, images and video), and last but not least, includes a clear call-to-action that’s quick and easy to complete!

Web design and development are often used interchangeably. But they’re actually totally different processes that require different skill-sets.

Web design is the process of creating the aesthetic and user experience of a website. Web designers use (graphics nerds) Adobe Photoshop and other graphic design tools to create the layout and visual elements of your website. Think of a web design like a picture – it’s just a representation of your website, it’s not interactive.

Web development turns a web design into a functioning website. Web developers (coding nerds) use code such as HTML to bring your website to life. Web developers take the “picture” of your website and make it dynamic, adding interactive links, buttons and more.
